What information does the application obtain and how is it used?
User Provided Information
Following the installation of the application, it will have to be registered on the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform by the Platform Administrator.
Once NTAC is launched for the first time, a unique Device ID will be provided. This ID must be added to the Platform by the Platform Administrator prior to the application being registered.
Once confirmation has been received that the Device ID has been added to the Platform, the user can select the Register option in the application. This will only have to be done once.
NORTAC Defence® will store the unique Device ID number for support purposes only.
Automatically Collected Information
The application does not automatically collect any information.
Does the application collect precise real time location information of the device?
When using our devices and mobile applications, GPS technology is used to: determine the user’s current location; display it on the application; and report it to the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account of the user’s organization using Iridium, cellular, or Wi-Fi networks. Data sent to the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account of the user’s organization can be in an unencrypted or encrypted format. Responsibility for ensuring encryption of the data is borne by the application user and organizational administrator of the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account. NORTAC Defence® does not have access to the positional information reported by the application.
If the user does not want their location used for the purposes set forth above, location services should be turned off on the device or mobile application.
What other data is transmitted by the application?
The user of the application can raise an emergency alert; send automatic notifications when they have left or entered an inclusive or exclusive geofence area; send non-report notifications when their device has not reported within a specified time frame; or send text messages with or without attached files. The data described will be transmitted to the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account of the user’s organization using Iridium, cellular, or Wi-Fi networks. The data transmitted can be in an unencrypted or encrypted format. Responsibility for ensuring encryption of the data is borne by the application user and organizational administrator of the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account. NORTAC Defence® does not have access to the data transmitted by the application.
Do third parties see and/or have access to information obtained by the application?
Other than the users’ organization with access to the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account (see above), no third party has access to information provided by the application.
We may disclose user provided information:
- as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
- when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
- with our trusted services providers who work on our behalf, who do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement;
- If NORTAC Defence® Ltd. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or uses of this information, as well as any choices you may have regarding this information.
What are my opt-out rights?
You can stop all collection of information by the software easily by uninstalling the software. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your device or via the software application marketplace or network.
Data Retention Policy, Managing Your Information
The only information retained by NORTAC Defence® is the Device ID information required to register the device to the user’s organization’s TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account. This information is held by NORTAC Defence® for support purposes only and is kept by NORTAC Defence® until the user or user’s organization informs NORTAC Defence® that the user’s device is no longer required to be registered on the Platform.
We do not use the application to knowingly solicit data from or market to minors under the age of 18. The application is solely for use by restricted authorized users who are members of organizations using the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform.
The NORTAC TACTICAL™ application will not function until it is registered on a TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account. NORTAC Defence® Ltd. Is responsible for the creation of TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform accounts for Government and Commercial Organizations. TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform accounts are not accessible to the general public without the express consent of the TITAN BY NORTAC® Platform account administrator.
We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information to authorized employees and contractors who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our application. Please be aware that, although we endeavor to provide reasonable security for information we process and maintain, no security system can prevent all potential security breaches.
